Red Rock Sound EQ173 is an AUv3 plug-in that offers a time-limited Demo-version for users to explore the features. The Demo-version allows for 5 minutes of Free play time per session, with the option to reload the plug-in multiple times to experience the Demo period repeatedly. For continuous access, users have the option to acquire the Unlimited version of the EQ173 AUv3 plug-in through an In-App Purchase.

The EQ173 is inspired by a classic class-A, transistor mic/line amp introduced in 1970, renowned for its distinctive clarity, sheen, and harmonics.

PREAMP SECTION:

• Line Gain: Adjust the line drive by rotating the knob. Range: -20 to +10.
• Mic Gain: Rotate the knob to increase mic drive. Range: -20 to -80. The PreAmp generates harmonic distortion without increasing gain, adding subtle coloration.

EQ SECTION:

• High Band: A smooth shelving equalization at 12 kHz with ±15 dB range.
• Midrange Band: Semi-parametric equalization with adjustable band gain and frequency selection, affecting bandwidth as gain changes.
• Low Band: Smooth low frequency shelving equalization with band gain and frequency control.
• Low Cut: Fixed frequency high pass filter with 18 dB per octave slope.

MASTER SECTION:

• Input: Adjusts signal level without altering character. Range: ±24 dB.
• Phase: Inverts signal polarity when engaged.
• EQ: Enables or disables equalizer function.
• Output: Adjusts output signal level without altering character. Range: ±24 dB.

• To utilize EQ173 as a plug-in, users must have an AUv3-compatible host app such as GarageBand, Auria, AUM, Cubasis, etc., where EQ173 will be listed among Audio Unit extensions for effect plug-ins in the host app.
